Why I got into the fitness industry
On average, my physical weight was about 130 pounds. After some major life changes, I weighed 178 pounds. This reality was a drastic change. I struggled with my body image. I also struggled mentally, as I did not like who I was. When I was a soldier in the Army, I trained to push through hard work, focus on the mission, and work until I get the right results. I did the only thing I knew to do to get the right results, I started exercising.
I will admit at that time, the motivation to exercise was only external. It was all about improving my body image. However, once I started working out, I noticed internal changes. For example, I had more energy throughout the day. I noticed that my self-esteem and self-confidence improved. Even with the weight loss and the other milestones, more changes began to take place.
Unexpectedly, the type of food that I ate mattered. For example, I started paying attention to food labels. I noticed how many fried foods I ate, my sugar intake, and so on. I knew ingesting unhealthy foods would disrupt all the progress I had made. I realized I was too “military-minded” to go backward, so I moved forward. I wanted to see what else I could do. I had unleashed powers that could no longer be buried. My confidence, commitment, resilience, patience, self-love, and self-respect rose to the surface.
I noticed that eating healthier made me feel lighter. My digestive system improved. Inflammation started to leave my body, and my acne began to clear up. I became happier and healthier. I reflected on what the Army taught me. I saw the right results. I began to look for other ways to improve myself. When I was in my 30s, I realized that I enjoyed working out because it was fun, exciting, and it made me feel powerful. It was no longer about image. I enjoyed the benefits of eating healthier foods and trying new exercises. This new routine was my lifestyle. It came as easy as sipping a cup of coffee.
I decided to learn more about the spiritual, physical, and mental dimensions that came with the gift of living. So, I got educated!
I believe everyone deserves a chance at having a healthy and happy life. A person can have all the money in the world, but if that person is not healthy mentally, physically, and spiritually that money is just a piece of paper. I am passionate about a healthy mindset, a loving spirit, and a healthy body. Through my experience, skills, and knowledge, I have evidence-backed expertise to help someone else achieve a healthier way of life by unleashing their power. Let’s go!
